URUMQI, China, May 13, 2025 — Chanson International Holding (Nasdaq: CHSN), a Chinese and American bakery, seasonal product, and beverage retailer, announced its “Songkang Meal” nasogastric nutrition formula series has been approved in China as a Food for Special Medical Purpose (FSMP). Several Xinjiang hospitals have already adopted the product. “Songkang Meal,” Chanson’s first FSMP product, marks the company’s entry into the medical nutrition market, opening new revenue opportunities.

“Songkang Meal” is formulated with localized features to meet the FSMP market needs in Northwest China. Designed for patients with chronic conditions like diabetes and kidney disease, the series uses a low-glycemic index carbohydrate and plant-based protein blend for balanced nutrition and gastrointestinal tolerance. It also includes ingredients native to Xinjiang, such as sea buckthorn and chickpeas. One Xinjiang hospital reported increased nutritional compliance rates after 127 patients used the product. In its first month, “Songkang Meal” was used by over 1,000 patients with satisfactory results, indicating positive regional reception.

Chanson’s FSMP venture leverages its food innovation experience. Utilizing technologies from bakery production like freeze-drying and precision temperature control, the company has developed stable, high-quality nutrition formulas. By sourcing local ingredients and centralizing Xinjiang production, Chanson aims for cost efficiency and raw material traceability. Its existing Xinjiang retail network facilitates a logistics system for delivering FSMP products to hospital partners within 48 hours, addressing cold-chain distribution challenges.

Mr. Gang Li, Chairman and CEO of Chanson, stated that China’s aging population and increasing need for specialized clinical nutrition present an opportunity to expand their food expertise into the FSMP sector. He sees the Xinjiang introduction of “Songkang Meal” as a significant step, utilizing their R&D, local supply chain, and retail network to address unmet needs and create a new growth driver. The company plans to launch five new nutrition products by 2026 for patients of all ages and believes that the initial launch of “Songkang Meal” in Xinjiang positions them to scale the model nationwide, with significant potential for long-term growth in health-focused food solutions due to their integrated capabilities.
