CHENGDU, China, Nov. 11, 2024 — A promotion symposium for the optoelectronic industry in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, titled “Building a Park with Distinctive Characteristics, Lighting up the Future”, was held in Shanghai on November 6. The event was hosted by the Chengdu New Economic Development Committee of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology and the Shuangliu District People’s Government of Chengdu.

The symposium featured discussions among representatives from Chengdu institutions, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Shanghai enterprises on the optoelectronic industry’s segmentation and its future development. Over 80 high-quality companies, including Zhongda Zhilian Digital Technology Co., Ltd. and Hefei Hexagonal Semiconductor Co., Ltd., attended the event.

“I hope entrepreneurs would visit and take a look at Chengdu Photoelectric Industrial Park, gather in Chengdu to establish an industrial chain, and make joint efforts to build a professional industrial park with distinctive characteristics,” said Dai Lan, Chief Engineer of the Chengdu New Economic Development Committee of the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology.

Shuangliu District of Chengdu highlighted its investment environment at the event. The School of Optoelectronics Science and Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, showcased its technological achievements and promoted itself, aiming to build a “Sensing Valley in Western China” and establish a joint research institute with Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province and Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, to translate scientific and technological breakthroughs and encourage industry-university-research collaboration.

“The optoelectronic industry is a key area for achieving breakthroughs in the development of new high-quality productivity in Shuangliu District,” stated a representative of Shuangliu District. Chengdu Airport Science and Technology Innovation Investment Group Co., Ltd. is currently bringing together optoelectronic industry companies to create a new, specialized industrial park with distinctive characteristics. The industrial park, spanning a building area of 88,000 square meters, features an optical pilot platform and standard factory buildings designed for optical applications. It is set to commence operations soon.
