CHENGDU, China, Nov. 13, 2024 — The GACP Chengdu Cluster Visit & GACP Friendly Cities Plaque Unveiling Ceremony commenced on November 9 in Shuangliu District, Chengdu. Organized jointly by the International Aviation Supply Chain (IASC) Leadership Summit, Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership (GACP), and Administrative Committee of Shuangliu Airport Economic Development Zone, the event drew delegates from various GACP member states including France, the UK, and Germany, alongside representatives from Shuangliu District.

The Airbus Chengdu project, a comprehensive service project completed in late 2023, has attracted substantial industry attention. Consequently, IASC extended invitations to GACP member state delegates to visit Shuangliu, providing them with an opportunity to personally experience the district’s geographical advantages, business environment, aviation industry cluster development status, and other sectors.

Niklas Schilling, a member of the Global Management Committee of GACP, Head of the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership (EACP), and Director of International Affairs of Hamburg Aviation Cluster, remarked: “Numerous Chinese enterprises are innovative and demonstrate considerable wisdom, and we genuinely hope these enterprises have the opportunity to expand their business globally.”

Delegates from GACP member states have formally recognized Shuangliu District of Chengdu as a friendly city, pledging to bring additional industry information and resources to Shuangliu District.

During the unveiling ceremony, the Administrative Committee of Shuangliu Airport Economic Development Zone representative highlighted the resource advantages, geographical strengths, and development status of Shuangliu District, extending invitations to GACP member states to visit the district. Shuangliu District aims to deepen cooperation with GACP and other global aviation clusters by leveraging its geographical advantages and industrial foundation, striving to build a new hub for the global aviation industry.

The official launch of the GACP Friendly Cities Plaque Unveiling Ceremony in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, marks a new era of international cooperation and development for Shuangliu’s aviation industry. This advancement not only lays a robust foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two sides but also brings new opportunities and impetus to the aviation industry’s growth in Chengdu and even the entire southwest China.
