Deutsche Aircraft Unveils D328eco Test Aircraft, Marking Key Step for Sustainable Regional Aviation

Wessling, Germany, May 30, 2025 — Deutsche Aircraft has unveiled its first D328eco test aircraft (TAC 1) at its Oberpfaffenhofen headquarters, marking a key moment for environmentally friendly regional aviation. Following the initial fuselage cut announcement at the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2024, the program has maintained momentum toward a more efficient and environmentally responsible future for regional air travel.

The D328eco builds on the Dornier 328, offering improved performance, fuel efficiency, a better customer experience, and reduced emissions, while maintaining the reliability trusted by airlines, operators, and passengers for over three decades. The test aircraft rollout highlights Deutsche Aircraft’s dedication to innovation, decarbonization, and regional connectivity.

According to Nico Neumann, Co-CEO of Deutsche Aircraft, the rollout of the first test aircraft is a major achievement in the D328eco program and a crucial step toward physical flight testing. He stated that it represents the transition from design to practical testing and industrialization and that Deutsche Aircraft is proud to introduce an aircraft based on the Dornier 328, enhanced for improved efficiency, lower emissions, and a better customer experience, making it ideal for regional operators globally.
