Liaoning’s Cui-Gui Country Road Named Among China’s Top Self-Driving Routes
ZHUANGHE, China, Nov. 27, 2024 — The Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China recently announced the results of its “Selecting the Most Fascinating Self-driving Routes in China” initiative, focusing on scenic country roads. From 135 nominated routes across 24 provinces, the “Guiyunhua (township) – Cuidiantun” Country Road (Cui-Gui Country Road) in Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province, was selected as one of the top 20, the only representative from Liaoning Province.
This initiative aims to highlight the nation’s most captivating self-driving routes. The selected routes, popular online, promote integrated transportation and tourism development, and bolster rural revitalization.
The Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuanghe Municipal Committee reports that the Cui-Gui Country Road, situated near the Biliuhe Reservoir in Zhuanghe City, is a 23.36km long, 7m wide third-class highway. Initially built in 1958 and renovated in 2019, it connects Buyunshan and Guiyunhua Townships. Known for its scenic beauty, including the Yunyuewan Folk Custom Park, Buyunshan Hot Spring, and Manchurian villages, the road seamlessly links highways and tourist attractions. Furthermore, it supports the growth of local agricultural industries, featuring Zhuanghe’s distinctive blueberry, hardy kiwi, cherry, and Buyunshan apple harvests. This has fostered an eco-tourism model, significantly improving the income of local residents.
