SHANGHAI, May 22, 2025 — Lin-gang, known as the “Young City,” celebrated China Tourism Day and its “Lin-gang · Meet Love” theme month with a lively concert at Dishui Lake Tourist Resort. The event coincided with May 20th, a day symbolizing love in China due to the phonetic similarity of “520” to “I love you” in Chinese.

Lin-gang Special Area

Lin-gang Special Area has organized a series of engaging activities designed to attract young people, enhance the city’s image, and boost its dynamism. By blending “music + anime + fireworks,” the event provided a rich cultural and tourism experience filled with urban warmth and youthful energy, creating a romantic atmosphere for the “City for the Young.”

“Shining Star Concert” Ignites the Night with a Passionate Anime Band Live Show
As evening approached, the “Shining Star Concert” began with an energetic band performance. The combination of fast-paced rhythms, powerful melodies, youthful performers, and enthusiastic emotions created a vibrant picture of urban life. Anime fans were treated to a unique experience as Lin-gang brought IP culture to life through interactions between characters and visitors, establishing a new cultural and tourism landscape with youthful and modern elements.

A gathering of love witnesses the arrival of happiness in Lin-gang
Celebrating youth in the spirit of love, “Lin-gang · Meet Love” was both a visual and musical spectacle and a romantic journey. During the event, six representative couples from a group wedding ceremony involving one hundred newlywed Lin-gang couples took the stage to exchange vows under the spotlight. Their stories embody the city’s spirit of love, and their images became a touching part of the urban scenery. Lin-gang will continue to innovate and improve experiences so that newlyweds can truly appreciate its youthful vitality and welcoming atmosphere.

Lin-gang gifts turn love into something you can hold
To mark China Tourism Day on May 19th, Dishui Lake Tourist Resort introduced “Lin-gang Gifts,” including a hand-drawn map of the resort, a Dishui Lake passport, a special commemorative metro ticket, Lin-gang-themed postcards, and other cultural tourism items. These gifts serve as both practical travel aids and loving mementos from the city to the newlyweds, reminding them that their love is celebrated and cherished by Lin-gang.

Affectionate vows and tangible tokens of love create a romantic ambiance throughout the city. Sakura Island at Dishui Lake was bathed in a soft, glowing light. This youthful, romantic, and free-spirited atmosphere is attracting an increasing number of young people to choose Lin-gang as their home.

A dreamlike spectacle: themed fireworks show stuns the audience
In Lin-gang, young, ambitious individuals are collectively shaping the vibrant identity of this “City for the Young.” The development of Lin-gang relies on attracting and nurturing talent. The concert culminated with Mou Kai, Director of the Marine Biology Research Institute of Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, pressing the button to launch the fireworks display. The stage was illuminated, and the “Seahorse Sacred Pillar” installation from Soul Land brought the mystical Sea God Island to life. Cosplayers recreated four iconic scenes from Soul Land – “Soul Master Assembly,” “Martial Soul Awakening,” “Unwavering Devotion,” and “Battle Spirit Eternal Flame” – immersing anime fans in the characters’ journeys through the interplay of light and shadow.

In the night sky, 15,000 custom Soul Land-themed fireworks synchronized perfectly with the music. The “Colorful Auspicious Cloud” fireworks display amazed the audience, with brilliant lights reflecting on the lake’s surface, creating a dreamlike effect.

Cultural warmth lights up the city
Looking forward, Lin-gang Special Area will further enhance its cultural tourism offerings, promote deeper integration of culture and tourism, and develop more comprehensive IP-themed experiences. These efforts will ignite Lin-gang’s youthful enthusiasm and cultural appeal, boost cultural tourism consumption, and strengthen Lin-gang’s brand image as a “Young City” and a “City for the Young.”
