Nexif Ratch Energy has received the Department of Energy’s Certificate of Energy Project of National Significance (CEPNS) for its 500 MW San Miguel Bay offshore wind project and the Board of Investment’s Green Lane Certificate for its 475 MW Lucena project. The CEPNS designation for the San Miguel Bay project, located in Camarines Sur, accelerates regulatory approvals, streamlining coordination across government agencies and local government units. This 500 MW project is a key component in achieving the Philippines’ renewable energy targets and bolstering energy security. The CEPNS is granted to significant energy projects (over PHP 3.5 billion investment) crucial for national energy security and economic growth.

The Green Lane Certificate for the Lucena project in Quezon Province designates it a Strategic Investment, expediting permit and license processes at both national and local levels. The San Miguel Bay Wind Project also received the Green Lane Certificate in June 2024.

The San Miguel Bay and Lucena projects are Nexif Ratch Energy’s most advanced offshore wind endeavors in the Philippines. These projects form part of a larger renewable energy portfolio totaling 2.5 GW, with 219 MW already operational or under construction.

The Chairman of the Development Committee of Nexif Ratch Energy stated, “Nexif Ratch Energy’s progression from hydro to solar and now offshore wind demonstrates our adaptability and innovation within the renewable energy sector. Our success stems from our regulatory expertise and strong partnerships. We remain dedicated to providing sustainable energy solutions for the Philippines and the wider region, ensuring efficient and compliant project completion.”

The CEO added, “With the Department of Energy and Board of Investments’ support, we are ready to finalize our offshore wind projects. Our progress on the San Miguel Bay and Lucena Wind Power Projects highlights our commitment to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.”
