PIA to Showcase Automation Solutions at The Battery Show
Automation solutions for the future of mobility
BAD NEUSTADT, Germany, Aug. 28, 2024 — **The Battery Show will be held in Detroit (USA) from October 7 to 10, 2024. PIA Automation will be present, showcasing automation solutions for the efficient production of battery modules.**
The Battery Show North America – this year taking place at the Detroit Convention Center for the first time – brings together battery manufacturers, suppliers, thought leaders, and decision-makers from around the globe annually to discuss the latest advancements in battery and electric vehicle technologies. The global battery market is experiencing rapid growth: McKinsey, a management consulting firm, anticipates sales exceeding 400 billion US dollars by 2030. A significant portion of this demand stems from mobility applications. This represents a growth market for PIA as well: “We have been actively involved in this market for an extended period and offer automation solutions encompassing the entire battery value chain,” says Dr. Quanji Cai, Business Segment Manager Energy Storage at PIA. “Our customers benefit from our process and application expertise, accumulated over many years within our international PIA network.”
The escalating interest in reliable and powerful battery systems is accompanied by a rising demand for efficient production systems. PIA manufactures assembly systems for electric and hybrid drives, providing customers with comprehensive support: from planning and designing such systems to on-site assembly at the customer’s facilities and maintenance and service. At the Battery Show, PIA will be presenting solutions for module and pack production, including the handling of cell housings and the production of what are known as cell contacting systems. PIA also incorporates solutions for fuel cell systems within its portfolio. The company is also developing systems for efficient and reliable battery recycling – demonstrating a forward-thinking approach toward resource-conserving value chains.
