Qingdao Hosts Sixth Multinationals Summit
QINGDAO, China, June 20, 2025 — The Sixth Qingdao Multinationals Summit commenced on June 19 at the Qingdao International Conference Center. Under the banner “Multinationals and China: Connecting the World for Win-Win Cooperation,” the summit aims to be a prominent platform facilitating policy discussions, industrial cooperation, and collaborative projects involving multinational corporations globally.

The summit is co-hosted by the People’s Government of Shandong Province and the Ministry of Commerce, and jointly organized by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province and the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government, among other entities.
This year’s summit has garnered significant attention and participation from the international business community. A total of 465 multinational corporations are participating, including 135 Fortune Global 500 companies and 330 leading enterprises in their respective industries. These companies represent 43 countries and regions, with over half originating from emerging market economies. Reflecting the growing importance of the services sector, more than 20% of the summit’s delegates are from multinational companies operating in modern finance, artificial intelligence, and other advanced technology sectors.
In addition to established markets like Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, Germany, and France, this year’s summit has seen increased involvement from developing regions, including ASEAN, the Middle East, and Africa. Notably, businesses from nine countries, including Vietnam and Egypt, are attending the summit for the first time.
The summit program features an opening ceremony and a high-level forum focused on the high-quality development of multinational corporations, three themed events, and numerous parallel sessions organized into four main sections. A new edition of the Multinationals in China research report series will also be launched during the summit.
According to Wang Lei, director-general of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, the previous five summits have collectively attracted 421 Fortune Global 500 companies and 967 industry-leading enterprises, with total attendance exceeding 3,000 delegates since the inaugural event.
