A partnership with City University of Hong Kong unlocks sustainable urban possibilities.

HONG KONG, March 28, 2025 — Wang & Lee Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: WLGS) announced the successful completion of Hong Kong’s first locally developed smart flooring system that transforms footsteps into electricity. This achievement, in collaboration with City University of Hong Kong (“CityU”), is a significant step in sustainable infrastructure. It also highlights the Company’s dedication to its Environmental, Social and Governance initiative and the promotion of clean energy technologies.

The smart flooring project, located in a busy area of the Hang Seng Bank Headquarters Building in Central, Hong Kong, uses piezoelectric and electromagnetic technologies to capture energy from pedestrian traffic. This energy is then stored in integrated batteries and used to power lights, digital displays, and other low-power devices, reducing the reliance on traditional energy sources.

Mr. Ho, CEO of Wang & Lee Group, commented, “This success demonstrates Hong Kong’s innovative spirit and our shared goal for a greener future. By converting walking into clean energy, we are changing urban sustainability. This project supports global climate change efforts and shows the real impact of smart city technologies.”

The initiative expands on Wang & Lee Group’s strategic partnership with CityU’s School of Energy and Environment, which was announced earlier this year. The project combined the Company’s engineering skills with CityU’s research capabilities to overcome technical challenges and improve energy efficiency and durability in high-traffic areas.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Renewable Energy Frontiers

Following this success, Wang & Lee Group plans to install similar systems in transportation hubs, commercial buildings, and public areas throughout Hong Kong. The Company is also increasing Research and Development efforts in related technologies, such as solar-integrated pavements and AI-driven energy management systems, to develop complete renewable energy solutions.

“This is only the start,” added Mr. Ho. “Our goal is to make renewable energy accessible, scalable, and easily integrated into everyday life. We are actively seeking partnerships and pilot projects globally to provide these solutions to communities that need sustainable infrastructure.”
