Andrew and Tristan Tate Face Rape, Trafficking Charges, Prosecutors Announce

Prosecutors announced Wednesday that social media personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate are facing a total of 21 charges, including rape and human trafficking.

According to the Associated Press, the charges were authorized in January 2024, leading to arrest warrants for the brothers, who hold both U.S. and U.K. citizenship but relocated to Romania in 2016.

While arrest warrants had been issued, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that Wednesday’s announcement marked the first time the brothers have faced criminal charges in Britain.

Andrew is facing 10 charges involving three women, including , human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for financial gain.

Tristan is facing 11 charges related to one woman, including rape, and actual bodily harm.

The Tates are social media influencers boasting over 10 million followers. They identify as entrepreneurs, and Andrew is a former kickboxer and MMA fighter.

Andrew is more widely known, having attracted a large following with his blatant misogyny, appealing to young men with the luxurious lifestyle he showcases.

The two were accused of enticing women to Romania for in a 2022 case that was ultimately derailed after a judge cited too many issues to proceed to trial.

In a second criminal case initiated in August 2024, they are also under investigation for allegedly trafficking underage girls.

They have also been accused of .

Andrew and Tristan have denied all allegations in Romania.

British prosecutors stated that Romanian courts have ordered to the U.K. once their case there concludes.

The warrant issued by Bedfordshire Police for the brothers dates back to between 2012 and 2015.

The current location of the brothers is unknown.

They were last photographed a week ago outside a police station in Voluntari, Romania, where they are required to report regularly while facing charges there.
