Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night at a Scarborough pub, leaving twelve people injured and the suspect at large.

Emergency services responded to reports of gunfire near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive in eastern Toronto, close to Scarborough Town Centre, around 10:40 p.m.

Toronto Fire Services reported an active shooting inside the pub, according to CBC.

All twelve victims were taken to the hospital. Police confirmed that four individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the condition of the other eight remains uncertain.

According to CBC, the suspect was wearing a black balaclava and fled the scene in a silver vehicle.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow expressed her concern on X, stating she “is deeply troubled to hear at a pub in Scarborough.”

Chow said she has spoken with Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw, who assured her that “all necessary resources have been deployed.”

“This is an early and ongoing investigation – police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families,” Chow stated.
