Iran launched a significant missile attack against Israel on Friday in retaliation.

Israeli defense systems are actively intercepting incoming projectiles. Authorities have issued an urgent directive for all civilians to immediately seek shelter and remain there until further notice.

The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has instructed all those in Israel to stay in shelters unless explicitly told otherwise by official sources.

reported that Iran fired 100 ballistic missiles, with five to seven bypassing Israel’s missile defenses, according to regional sources.

chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst had to take cover live on television as missiles from Iran targeted Tel Aviv.

Yingst, who was unharmed, stated he had never witnessed such an event in his seven years reporting from Israel.

While reporting from a densely populated area of Israel, Yingst and his crew sought safety as explosions occurred nearby.

The attack follows a sweeping strike by the Israel Defense Forces on after months of attempted nuclear negotiations that appeared to have failed.

Yingst reported that five people have been hospitalized, including at least two with “very serious injuries.” Israel’s national emergency service, MDA, also treated four individuals for anxiety following the attack.

A senior U.S. official told in a statement that “The U.S. is assisting Israel to shoot down Iranian missiles,” adding, “There are hundreds of thousands of American citizens and other American assets in Israel and the U.S. is working to protect them.”

Iranian state media reports that Iran is calling its ongoing retaliatory strikes against Israel operation “True Promise 3.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people on Friday night, stating, “The Islamic regime, which has oppressed you for nearly 50 years, threatens to destroy my country, the state of Israel.”

He said that the objective of Israel’s military operation in Iran is to eliminate its nuclear and ballistic missile threat to Israel.

He added that Israel also supports “freedom” for the Iranian people in their objective.
