Khamenei Blasts Trump Following Middle East Trip
Shortly after concluded his visit to the Middle East, Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday sharply criticized the United States and Israel, accusing Trump of dishonesty and advocating for the elimination of Israel.
“Trump claims he wants to use power to promote peace. He is being untruthful,” , adding that some of the comments made during Trump’s visit to the region were so insignificant that they were embarrassing for the American people.
The United States has considered Iran a state sponsor of terrorism since the 1980s. The vehemently anti-Western and antisemitic Khamenei described Israel, a crucial US ally in the Middle East, as a “cancerous tumor” that needed to be eradicated.
According to the Trump administration, Khamenei’s government is the primary global sponsor of antisemitism.
Khamenei also criticized the Sunni Arab nations in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, that are allied with the United States.
“The failing strategy of telling Arab countries they cannot survive for even ten days without US support is being implemented once again. However, it will fail, and America will withdraw from the area.”
The experienced 86-year-old revolutionary Islamist stated that Washington’s objective was to make Sunni Arab countries dependent on Washington. “The US wants these countries to be unable to function independently, and their behavior and proposals reflect this.”
Khamenei also accused the United States of utilizing its resources to attack the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
“The US has used its power to perpetrate massacres in Gaza, incite conflict whenever possible, and arm its mercenaries,” Khamenei said.
