A bus carrying wedding guests crashed into a ravine in Pakistan on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people, according to rescue workers and officials.

The incident occurred near Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province. While the cause of the crash is currently unknown, authorities have launched an investigation.

The Associated Press reported that Wasim Baig, a spokesperson for the health department, stated that the bodies of the victims, along with 17 injured individuals, were transported to a nearby hospital.

Several of the injured individuals are reportedly in critical condition.

In Pakistan, where highways are often poorly maintained and traffic regulations are frequently disregarded, bus accidents are a common occurrence.

In August, three separate bus crashes resulted in the deaths of 60 Pakistanis.

Two of these crashes took place within Pakistan, with one occurring in Balochistan and the other in the eastern Punjab province. These two crashes resulted in the deaths of 32 people, according to the AP.

Authorities have attributed both of these crashes to driver negligence.

The third crash occurred in Iran, claiming the lives of 28 Pakistani pilgrims who were traveling to Iraq.
