Trump Claims India and Pakistan Reach Ceasefire Agreement

According to a post on Truth Social by the U.S. President, India and Pakistan have come to a ceasefire agreement.

The president stated on Saturday morning, “After lengthy discussions facilitated by the United States, I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

The fact that both nations possess makes any tensions between them particularly concerning on a global scale.

House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., responded to the president’s announcement by calling him “The Peace President” in a post on X.

U.S. Secretary of State mentioned in a statement that he and U.S. Vice President JD Vance had communicated with officials from both countries.

“Over the last two days, Vice President Vance and I have been in contact with high-ranking Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik,” Rubio stated in the . 

He further added, “I am pleased to announce that the Governments of India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to begin discussions on a wide range of issues at a neutral location. We commend Prime Ministers Modi and Sharif for their wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship in choosing the path of peace.”

Vance posted on X, “Great work from the President’s team, especially Secretary Rubio. And my gratitude to the leaders of India and Pakistan for their hard work and willingness to engage in this ceasefire.”
