UK Police Probe Fire at Keir Starmer’s London Residence
Authorities in the UK are investigating a fire that occurred overnight at a north London residence, causing damage to the front door.
The house has been rented out by Starmer since his election in July. He currently resides with his family at the official residence for the prime minister.
The London Fire Brigade reported that they received a call regarding “a small fire” shortly after 1 a.m. local time. Two fire engines were dispatched and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.
Police stated that they found damage “to the property’s entrance” upon arrival, but confirmed that there were no injuries. “An investigation into the fire is underway, and the area remains cordoned off as inquiries continue,” the police force added.
Starmer’s home in Kentish Town has been the site of protests in the past. Last year, three pro-Palestinian demonstrators were arrested and charged with public order offenses after displaying a banner with red handprints outside the property.
