TWO notorious robbers, who are believed to be members of the Cuadra robbery group, were arrested in joint drug busts by police operatives in Barangay 2, Bacolod City on Monday, December 6.

Police Captain John Christopher Masangkay, who led the operation, identified the suspects as Anthony Cuadra, 31, and Raymond Espinosa, 29, both residents of the barangay.

Masangkay said the suspects, who were identified as street level individuals, were arrested after one of them transacted with a police poseur-buyer past 3 p.m. Monday.

Police recovered from the suspects 12 sachets of shabu weighing 12 grams with estimated market value of P81,600 and the P500 marked money.

Magsangkay said the suspects were under surveillance for almost a week before their arrest. Cuadra was a brother of the robbery group leader, he added.

Aside from Bacolod City, they are also operating in neighboring localities in Negros Occidental, the police said.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5.

They will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
