WORK was temporarily halted at the Bacolod City Government on Monday, September 27, in observance of the “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.”

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said this is pursuant to Proclamation 326 series of 2012, declaring the last week of September as family week.

Leonardia, in a statement, said the city employees were sent home early so that they could be with their respective families.

But he said those agencies whose functions involve delivery of basic and health services, preparedness and response to disasters and calamities and or the performance of the vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.

Leonardia also encouraged all the City Government workers to support the family week celebration.

Through Memorandum Circular (MC) 90 was also inked by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea by authority of President Rodrigo Duterte, work in the executive branch were suspended early yesterday to allow government workers to spend time with their families.

MC 90 was issued in pursuant to Proclamation 60 signed in 1992 which declares the last week of September of every year as Family Week.
