Bacolod to also inoculate minors with no comorbidities

ASIDE from minors with comorbidities, the City Government of Bacolod will also start vaccinating Wednesday, November 3, children aged 12 to 17 who have no illnesses at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central and SM City Mall.

Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) Executive director Em Ang said Tuesday, November 2, that the vaccination of minors with comorbidities will continue Wednesday at the Riverside Medical Center until November 4.

As for minors with no comorbidities, they can avail themselves of the vaccine at the two malls from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., she said.

On October 29, the Department of Health (DOH) officially launched the Pediatric A3 Vaccination Program in the country where Bacolod City had the highest number of minors inoculated nationwide in a single venue.

DOH records showed that Bacolod City’s Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19 ) Vaccination Council had administered Pfizer vaccines to 266 minors with commodities.

The minors belonged to the Pediatric A3 priority group, or persons aged 12 to 17 years old with comorbidities.

Meanwhile, other top performing hospitals in terms of inoculation of minors with comorbidities are the Manuel A. Roxas District Hospital with 246 minors inoculated, Gov. Faustino N. Dy District Hospital with 226, and the City of Ilagan Medical Center with 216, all in Isabela in Cagayan Valley (Region 2).

It also included Surigao City-based Caraga Regional Hospital with 206; Baguio City General Hospital and Medical Center in the Cordillera Autonomous Region – 168; and Batanes General Hospital with 156 and the Echague District Hospital (155), both in Region 2.

St. Paul Hospital Inc. in Iloilo City and Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, meanwhile, vaccinated 130 and 77 minors, respectively, under the Pediatric A3 priority group.

The minors are also required to present identification cards and proof of filiation of their guardians or birth certificate since they need to sign a waiver.

As of October 29, Bacolod City already registered a total of 5,776 minors aged 12 to 17.
