THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental will wait for the new alert level classification from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on March 16, 2022 before resuming back to its normal five-day work week.Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II said Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson has not issued an executive order yet that would allow the resumption of the five-day work week.Lacson earlier said they will resume the five-day work week on March 1.Diaz, however, said they did not proceed with the five-day work week because the province remains under Alert Level 2 in terms of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) risk transmission.”We were hoping that the province would have been downgraded to Alert Level 1,” he said, adding that they will recommend to Lacson the resumption of the five-day work week once the province slides down to Alert Level 1.Although the provincial government employees are still adapting to the four-day work week, Diaz said Friday is the day they usually catch up with any unfinished tasks while they are working from home.
