THE distribution of typhoon relief assistance, especially those coming from the National Housing Authority (NHA), may be affected by the banning period relative to the upcoming May 9 elections.Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz II is urging concerned local government units (LGUs) to hasten the submission of their respective master lists of beneficiaries. It should be made before the start of the election ban period on March 25, which is also the start of the campaign period for local candidates.Diaz also said they are closely coordinating with the concerned government agencies such as the NHA, Department of Social welfare and Development Office, and Department of Labor and Employment in order to be granted the exemptions from the ban of some of their programs, especially on relied assistance.Provincial Comelec Supervisor lawyer Robert Salazar conducted a briefing at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City Monday, March 21, about the election banning on government projects for the guidance of the department heads.Diaz said disbursements for public works, social services and housing projects are covered by the banning.Covid-19 vaccination, on the other hand, is not covered by the ban, he added.
