HINIGARAN town Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo has exposed the alleged move to drag his name to a murder case, which for him is “politically motivated.””I am so worried now because as the election nears my political rival is creating some plans to destroy my name and make some moves to derail my reelection bid,” Arceo said in a press conference at Café Namon Restaurant in Bacolod City Sunday, March 20, 2022.Areceo, who was with his lawyers Guillermo Tejida III and Victorio Torrecampo, stressed that he decided to expose this so that “the public would be aware of their ill motives against the Hingaranons.”“I am worried that the people of Hinigaran would be harassed too if this is not stopped,” Arceo also said.A certain Olivia Salazar wrote the provincial office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on the murder cases of her son Mark Christian Salazar on December 18, 2021 in Pantalan Daan, Barangay 1, Hinigaran and her husband Mariano Salazar on May 2, 2020 along the national highway of the town.She alleged in her letter that the Hinigaran Municipal Police Station did not exert effort to solve the case since the suspects Leonardo Espinosa alias Adoy and Leroy Espinosa alias Leroy are bodyguards of Arceo.She also claimed that the town police tried to cover up the actual events that transpired in the said cases.Arceo said he is mulling to request the Commission on Elections to place the town under its control to prevent any untoward incidents, although so far it has not monitored any incidents that are becoming alarming.The town mayor said some individuals have been tailing him and it is possible that they are planning something bad against him.
