“IT COULD either be a grudge or work-related.”

These are the angles being looked into by police in the shooting of Barangay 14 Kagawad Rhoule Jay Martir on Saturday, December 11, Police Station 7 commander Captain Elmer Bonilla said.

Bonilla said the manner Martir was shot apparently showed that the killing was triggered by anger, adding that the killing was well-planned.

He noted that the victim’s wife, who was with him when he was shot, could not identify the assailants.

Making the investigation difficult is the fact that the guard has no records of the vehicles entering the subdivision.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, Martir was sitting outside the house he owned at Lumina Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre, when a Blue Toyota Corolla stopped in front of him.

One of the four bonnet-wearing passengers alighted from the car and shot Martir several times, hitting his face and other parts of his body, resulting in his instantaneous death.

Several empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene, police records showed.

Bonilla added that they are coordinating with the victim’s family to determine if he had received threats before he was shot dead.
