PRESIDENTIAL aspirant Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson has renewed his commitment to offer his life to the Filipinos as he aspires for the country’s top post.Lacson made a clear remark during the presidential debates on Saturday, March 26, that only him, among the candidates for president, has the capability, experience and qualification to lead the country confronted with many problems.Among the problems he cited are the impact of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic to the economy, surging prices of fuel products due to the crisis in Ukraine, and the country’s debt reaching upto P12 trillion. These are on top of corruption, insurgency and the Philippines being bullied by China over the West Philippine Sea issue, the senator said, as he offered solutions to these problems based on his experience as a soldier, police and legislator.“From being a law enforcer who fought against terrosim, communist groups and criminals, from being the chief of the Philippine National Police Office who imposed internal cleansing among its ranks, and being a senator who has no corruption records, I want to continue serving the nation,” he said.Lacson, who served the Philippine Constabulary for 20 years, PNP for 10 years, and the Senate for 18 years, also worked as the Presidential Assistant on Rehabilitation and Recovery. The presidential aspirant also bannered his bravery, as he vowed not to be silent when there’s irregularity. In fact, Lacson said, because of fighting against what is wrong, he had many enemies in politics.During the Commission on Election’s debate, Lacson stressed that such kind of bravery is needed in order to realize the promises of other presidential candidates.”It takes a leader who is competent, qualified and experienced, to turn the promises of Unity, Bilis Aksyon, Angat Buhay into reality,” he said, adding that “we need a President who is ready to fight for every Filipino.””Among all the Presidential aspirants, narito man o laging absent, walang sinuman kundi ako ang sadya at aktwal na nagsugal ng sariling buhay sa pagligtas sa panganib ng sinuman,” the senator also said during the debate.
