Negrense youth backs Leni

SOME 25 youth organizations in Negros expressed their support to Vice President Leni Robredo as she seeks the presidency in the 2022 elections.

The group calling itself Negros Youth for Leni (NY4L), is an alliance of youth organizations and leaders.

The alliance included the Samahan ng Makabagong Lasalyano – Sectoral Action Group for Empowered Students (Samalaya-Sages), Sowing Legacy Movement, Inc, St.Scholastica’s Academy – Bacolod High School Student Council, Linghod, Humanist Alliance Philippines, International Bacolod, Young Farm Workers Association (YoFWA), Youth for Climate Hope, Alliance of Socialist Feminists in Bacolod, UPV Negrense, and Nakalang Ilijan Youth Association

It also included the Barangay Robles Sangguniang Kabataan, Akbayan Youth, Bacolod Caliban Youth Organization, Integrated Sumbingco Association of Youth, Salvacion Youth Organization, Jovellanos Active Youth Organization, Barangay Abu-abo Youth Organization, Paglaum Youth Organization, Jesusa Youth Organization, Augustinians for Leni and the La Castellana National High School-Senior High Supreme Student Government.

Joining them is the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod Political Science and Psychological Societies and the College of Education and Engineering Student Councils.

In a statement sent to SunStar Bacolod, the group said they believe that a Leni Robredo presidency will help Filipinos heal from the ill-effects of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, corrupt governance and national division.

The NY4L said that they are witnesses to the servant-leadership of VP Leni Robredo, whose partners and volunteers stood and worked with many Filipinos to show the type of leadership our country needs.

It said Robredo has implemented a clear and comprehensive plan to fight and end Covid-19, made vaccines accessible for all Filipinos, provided medical, food, and educational assistance to All Filipinos, organized training programs for unemployed Filipinos and entrepreneurs, stood for the protection of Philippine sovereignty and the safety of Filipinos, fought for the poor, the marginalized, and the vulnerable, and showed integrity in service, a commendable track record, and irrefutable competence.
