Philippine Ballet Theater performs in Victorias City

THE Philippine Ballet Theater’s eleven performers put on their dancing shoes and hit the stage of Don Alejandro Acuña Yap Quiña Arts and Cultural Center in time for the celebration of the National Heritage month and the 103rd birthday of the late Victorias City Mayor Remedios Palanca – Bantug on Thursday, March 26, 2022.They showcase new pieces choreographed by artistic director Ronilo Jaynario, entitled “Take the Next Step.”They dance to the music of Jose Mari Chan, Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, Calum Scott, James Blunt, Pharell Williams, and Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.The show was made possible by the Office of Negros Occidental Third District Representative Jose Francisco “Kiko” Bantug Benitez in cooperation with the City of Victorias under the leadership of Mayor Francis Frederick P. Palanca in celebration of the National Heritage Month.Eleven talented performers of the classic ballet company featured new pieces depicting a celebration of life amidst crises. They shared their reflections through dancing to popular music of today and yesterday.The City Administrator’s Office of Victorias City facilitated the event that amazed ballet enthusiasts, and ignited a newfound appreciation for culture and the arts with their show in Victorias and its neighboring Cities of Silay and Talisay.Philippine Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Ronilo Jaynario said the ballet dancers who performed were Gab Jaynario, Gladys Baybayan, Therese Riego, Mara Francisco, Bela Bellosillo, Tessa Tordesillas, Sophie Tiangco, Matthew Davo, Jimmy Lumba, Alexis Piel, and Carl Lacaba. The Production Team was composed of Mai Reyes, Mico Gregorio and Roldan Lozano.
