Second Dolphin’s Football cup opens

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson led the ceremonial kick-off of the second Dolphins Football Cup at Bantug Polo Field in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Saturday, March 19.Joining the activity were Executive Assistant to the governor and provincial sports coordinator, Anthony Carlo Agustin, Keith Buyco of Maharlika FC, and Miguel Carmona, among others.The first Dolphins Cup was held at Panaad back in 2019 with 150 participating teams.Dolphin is a football club that also advocates the preservation and conservation of Irrawaddy dolphins, which are considered endangered species found in the shores of the provinces of Guimaras and Negros Occidental.The organizers held the football event to expose young and old Negrense players to the different clubs coming from Cebu, Negros Oriental, Iloilo and Mindanao.The organizers pledged to maintain the health standards required in the games and to promote a healthy lifestyle for children and adults.
