Suspects rob P50K from store owner

A STORE owner lost P50,000 in cash to robbers who held her up at Barangay Buenavista in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17.Dorothy Joy Ortega, 45, of MMY Village in Barangay Buenavista told thepolice that he was on board the tricycle of his brother Dennis Yanson on their way home when the suspects blocked their way.Ortega said one of them threatened her with a knife while the other pointed his gun at her before forcibly taking her bag containing the cash.The suspects then rode a motorcycle and escaped towards the westdirection, the complainant also said.She said that one of the suspects was wearing a sweatshirt, red helmet,denim pants and rubber shoes while his companion was clad in a black ball cap, black face mask and denim shorts.Captain Romulo Gepilango, deputy chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, said they are still conducting a thorough investigation to identify the suspects.
