A THREE-VEHICLE mash-up left a motorcycle rider dead and two others, including a public school teacher, injured at the intersection of the Bacolod-Silay Access Road along Barangay Matab-ang in Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday evening, April 20, 2022.Ricardo Miago, 65, of Barangay Mambulac in Silay City, died upon arrival at the Talisay City Health Center, investigator Master Sergeant Jade dela Cruz told Sunstar Bacolod Thursday, April 21, 2022.Aside from Miago, his passenger Mildred Sarmiento, 43, of Hacienda Hawaian also in Silay, and public school teacher Analyn Agocejas, 40, of Sitio Sool in Barangay San Fernando in Talisay, were also injured, dela Cruz said.Only Sarmiento was confined to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, dela Cruz added.Initial investigation showed that the Talisay City’s ambulance where Agocejas was onboard was heading west while the sports utility vehicle driven by Technical Sergeant Jonel Suco, 43, of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, was heading south on its way to Bacolod when the two vehicles collided. The collision’s impact caused the ambulance to swerve on the left portion of the road before flipping on its side pinning Miago and Sarmiento. The two were on board their parked motorcycle.Agocejas, who was earlier injured when she fell from her motorcycle on her way home in Barangay San Fernando, sustained additional injuries, dela Cruz said. She was rushed to the Talisay City Health Center but was later discharged. The investigator said the family of Miago is no longer interested in filing charges against ambulance driver Warlito Bascones, 41, of Barangay Concepcion in Talisay and Suco.
