Fuzhou, Fujian, May 22, 2026 – The launch ceremony for the 2026 China Fuzhou International Investment Promotion Month and the “Together for Prosperity in Fuzhou: Global Investment Promotion Conference” took place on the afternoon of May 22 at the Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center. The event was organized by the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, the Fuzhou Municipal People’s Government, and the Fujian Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau. Building upon the foundational vision and initiatives established by President Xi Jinping during his time in Fuzhou—specifically the creation of the “China Fuzhou International Investment Promotion Month”—the conference centered on the theme of “Together for Prosperity in Fuzhou.” It encouraged authorities at every level to implement a comprehensive, end-to-end, and inclusive investment promotion strategy, inviting global investors to capitalize on the latest technological and industrial shifts and achieve mutual growth through collaborative engagement.

The conference showcased Fuzhou’s strategic resources, drawing a distinguished group of over 1,200 global investors. Attendees included more than 500 prominent overseas Chinese entrepreneurs and representatives from Hong Kong and Macao across 70 countries and regions; nearly 70 executives from Fortune Global 500, China Top 500, and China Top 500 Private Enterprises based outside Fujian; leaders from major Taiwan-invested firms and industrial organizations; and various private sector representatives and project stakeholders. Nearly 80% of the participants traveled from outside Fuzhou. Key speakers included Antony Leung Kam Chung, Group Chairman and Co-founder of New Frontier Group; Abdul Alek Soelystio, Chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Entrepreneur Association (PERPIT); and Wang Tao, Vice President of JD.com. They addressed topics such as the cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone, service sector opening-up pilot policies, wholly foreign-owned hospitals, and investment opportunities for Fuzhou-native entrepreneurs, while sharing insights into the city’s favorable business climate and growth potential.

The conference also focused on aligning with Fuzhou’s core industries to drive effective matchmaking. With a goal of developing the “358X” industrial cluster and strengthening 16 primary industrial chains, over 200 investment promotion teams were mobilized prior to the event. These teams identified more than 200 projects for negotiation and targeted outreach. During the conference, a list of over 50 prospective projects was distributed among 12 counties and districts, leading to nearly 100 site visits and negotiations, effectively turning the conference into a catalyst for project implementation. Fuzhou unveiled 59 specific investment priorities across 16 key chains, alongside an investment opportunity list featuring 639 items valued at over 920 billion yuan, inviting global investors to participate in Fuzhou’s future development.

Furthermore, the conference adopted a province-wide perspective to foster coordinated regional growth. Officials from 14 provincial departments, including the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce (Fujian Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau), the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, were present to guide regional investment efforts. The Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce highlighted the province’s investment environment, emphasizing the opportunities within a “vibrant, sound, prosperous, and beautiful” Fujian. Nanping City also presented its investment environment under the “Mountain-Sea Collaboration” initiative to promote regional synergy.

The 2026 China Fuzhou International Investment Promotion Month and the 28th Cross-Strait Fair for Economy and Trade are scheduled from May 21 to June 21. The program features the Global Investment Promotion Conference, five major thematic investment events—targeting overseas Chinese, private enterprises, state-owned enterprises, Taiwan-invested firms, and foreign-invested firms—and 12 county-level events. Supporting activities include the Cross-Strait Industrial Development Conference, the Cross-Strait Carbon Neutrality Conference, and the introduction of policies for the Fuzhou-Matsu “Shared Life Circle.” With its extensive duration, broad industry reach, and international focus, the event is expected to host over 10,000 participants, further cementing the “Together for Prosperity in Fuzhou” brand as global investors engage with the city’s high-quality development.
