Furniture brand procurement teams have dealt with unforgivable fabric quality issues for years. I spoke to four EU and US furniture operators last quarter. All reported losing 12 to 18 percent of their annual margin on defective fabric returns and re-shipping fees. OYD Textile’s spot on China’s top 10 custom sofa fabric factory list is not meaningless PR fluff. It exposes how badly most mainstream suppliers have been failing their client base.
The official announcement lays out clear operational details. OYD runs a 10,000 square meter facility in Haining, Zhejiang, with over 100 advanced weaving and knitting machines. It enforces three consecutive quality checks across raw material testing, in-production monitoring and pre-shipment verification. Most competing factories skip at least one of these checks to cut production costs by 10 percent on average. They deliver lower sticker prices, but clients eat the cost of post-delivery defects.
The official release also highlights OYD’s flexible custom service terms. The minimum order sits at 800 to 1,000 meters per color, with a 3,000 meter total per contract threshold. It has exported to over 30 countries across Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, with full CIF shipping and customs support. Generic textile traders usually demand 5,000+ meter total minimums for custom designs. Smaller brands could never test new collections without massive inventory risk before this.
Mid-sized furniture brands will move at least a quarter of their custom fabric sourcing to specialized, quality-focused factories like OYD by the end of 2027.
