GUIGANG, China, Aug. 26, 2025 — A press conference commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Guigang’s New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development and the 5th (2025) New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development Conference was held on August 20. Organized by the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Guigang City and the Publicity Department of Gangbei District, Guigang City, the conference announced that the 5th (2025) New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development Conference will be held in Nanning on August 28. Under the theme “Innovation-Driven Intelligent Manufacturing, Openness Connecting the Globe,” the event will bring together domestic and international guests, experts, scholars, and leading industry players. With a focus on emerging trends in the RCEP market, the conference will facilitate discussions through a thematic conference, a launch event for new national standard electric bicycle products, a matchmaking event for new energy electric vehicle production and sales in ASEAN countries, and electric bicycle test rides. These efforts aim to further promote the mutual recognition of certifications for new national standard products within ASEAN, explore a new industrial cooperation model of “Intelligent Manufacturing from China + Manufacturing from ASEAN,” and boost the high-quality development of the new energy electric vehicle industry.

In 2015, Gangbei District established the China-ASEAN New Energy Electric Vehicle Production Base. Over the past decade, the base has attracted over 100 electric vehicle companies, with more than 50 now operational. It boasts an annual production capacity of 5 million two-wheeled electric vehicles, 500,000 three-wheeled electric vehicles, and 5 million sets of parts and components. Local sourcing accounts for 80% of production, and the district’s brand concentration, component support rate, and level of intelligent manufacturing are among the highest in China, reinforcing the “Quality Electric Vehicles, Made in Guigang” reputation.

Leveraging a comprehensive industrial chain, Gangbei District provides a wide selection of high-quality electric vehicles, including over 100 models of electric bicycles, light electric motorcycles, and high-speed electric motorcycles. These products offer affordable and environmentally friendly transportation for consumers in ASEAN and worldwide. The Guangxi New Energy Electric Vehicle Quality Inspection Center, located within the district, is a leading facility in China in terms of testing capabilities, providing crucial support for “Made in Guigang” electric vehicles to gain a strong reputation in the international market.

Gangbei District’s strategic location at the intersection of the Pearl River Delta, Southwest China, Beibu Gulf, and ASEAN economic zones provides convenient access to high-speed rail, expressways, and waterways, with connections to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area within 30 hours. Guigang Port in the district serves as a key channel for exporting goods from Southwest China to Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and ASEAN countries, paving the way for the electric vehicle industry to connect with global markets.

As a major national production hub for the electric vehicle industry, Gangbei District is actively developing an open platform for external collaboration to facilitate the industry’s entry into international markets. Gangbei District has enhanced cooperation with relevant national departments, the China Bicycle Association, and electric vehicle associations from various provinces and cities, and has hosted the New Energy Electric Vehicle Industry Development Conference for four consecutive years. These initiatives enable companies to stay informed about international market trends and cutting-edge technologies, as well as establish partnerships with global counterparts, creating more opportunities for exporting products.

Currently, electric vehicles manufactured in Gangbei District are exported to countries including India, Thailand, the Netherlands, Nepal, Peru, Costa Rica, and Madagascar, securing a presence in the global market. Looking ahead, Gangbei District will continue to expand its openness, enhance industrial competitiveness, enable more “Made in Guigang” electric vehicles to reach global markets, and boost the industry’s global influence.
