BACOLOD City Councilor Renecito Novero, chairman of the City Council committee on education, said Thursday, April 7, 2022, that three more public elementary and secondary schools in Bacolod City are seeking approval to conduct limited face-to-face (F2F) classes.Novero said they already endorsed the applications of Education and Training Center Schools (ETCS) I and III as well as that of Barangay Singcang-Airport National High School to the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) Wednesday, April 6.EOC records showed that 19 public elementary and secondary public schools in the city have been granted authority to hold limited F2F classes.“They can start it immediately as soon as they are ready,” Novero said, adding that these schools should strictly implement health protocols once limited F2F classes begin.Under the guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force and Department of Education (DepEd), students and teachers who will participate in limited F2F classes should be fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).In February, DepEd Division of Bacolod piloted the resumption of limited F2F classes at Alangilan National High School in Barangay Alangilan. The official said that they are expecting that more schools will apply for the conduct of limited F2F classes, especially now that the city remains under Alert Level 1 in terms of Covid-19 transmission.
