IN A bid to further boost Negros Occidental’s vaccination drive against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang said they are planning to hold a four-day provincial vaccination program.Tumimbang said the plan is being pushed by Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II and to be presented to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson. He said that through a local initiative, the provincial vaccination is eyed as many are still hesitant to be vaccinated. Also, the Provincial Cold Storage Facility is still full of vaccines against Covid-19, the provincial health officer said. The four-day vaccination is being pushed in order to downgrade some localities from Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 1, Tumimbang said, adding that the vaccination turnout matters in determining the classification status of every locality.Tumimbang pointed out that Covid is still around so it is important that everyone is vaccinated, including senior citizens and children.Booster shots will also be included in the provincial vaccination program. The date will be determined once approved by the governor, he added.
