THE City Government of Bago will continue to give P50,000 incentive to its barangays with drug-cleared status.Mayor Nicholas Yulo made the statement during the joint City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac) meeting recently.Yulo said the incentive would be used by drug-cleared barangays in connection with their anti-drugs programs and activities. The local government, in a ceremony at the City Council Session Hall last November 9, recognized and awarded Barangays Tabunan, Pacol, Napoles, Balingasag and Dulao with cash incentive of P50,000 each after the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing issued a drug-cleared status to them.In 2020, the first seven villages were the first to avail of the incentives and rewards program of the city. These were Barangays Alianza, Bagroy, Ilijan, Busay, Caridad, Mailum, and Binubuhan. The Cadac led by Yulo with the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Bago and Bago City Police Station at the helm are optimistic that the incentives will serve as motivation for the remaining barangays to achieve a drug- clear status.
