Bamboo, Sue Ramirez captivate 10,000 crowd at ‘Sidlak Malihaw’

FILIPINO rock icon Bamboo MaƱalac and multi-talented Negrense actress Sue Ramirez have captivated at least 10,000 locals during the “Sidlak Malihaw” event held at the public plaza of Victorias City on Tuesday evening, April 26.They glued the crowd in fun and excitement with their extraordinary talents and show stopping performances.Being popular personalities in showbusiness, Bamboo and Sue had countless fans all over the country.Bamboo gave the residents of the northern Negros Occidental city a stunning performance that people used to experience on television. He sang some of his popular pieces that seemed to become household songs by many Filipinos, especially the young ones.Ramirez, girlfriend of mayoralty bet Javier “Javi” Benitez, also gave her share of talents, humor, and wit to the Victoriahanons.The Kapamilya actress sang “Your Love,” which she relates to the love of a Victoriahanon, referring to his boyfriend, with whom she shares her sweetest love.She also had a duet with Javi in the song “Born for you” that made revelers scream.The Broken Marriage Vow lead cast teased the crowd, “Your future mayor Javi is handsome and can sing well. Te, diin pa kamo?”On the sidelines of the event, Ramirez said she prays for the victory of Benitez, “because Victorias really deserves a young, dynamic and very selfless leader, and I think he will make a great mayor.” For Benitez, the event title “Sidlak Malihaw” is synonymous with the rising anew of Victorias City. On the same night, they held the grand rally of his team, Team Asenso Victoriahanon.A standard bearer of the team, he is the son of former Third District congressman and now Bacolod City mayoralty candidate Alfredo Benitez and nephew of incumbent Congressman Jose Francisco Benitez.The event was first greeted by a rainfall that lasted for an hour, and yet proceeded with fun, excitement, and full of festivity. Other performers included I Belong to the Zoo and Brownman Revival bands.In his speech, Benitez thanked the people for their warm support. He also reminisced his precious moments with his late Lola Remedios “Idiong” Bantug, former mayor of the city.”One of those who led in the beautification of the plaza was Lola Idiong. Possibly, she saw in her dreams even before that time will come, like now, that the future she envisioned will be like that of our generation,” Benitez said.”I will lead, but you will do your job.
