UNIDENTIFIED men shot dead a truck driver in Toboso town, Negros Occidental around 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 2.Toboso Municipal Police Station Chief Captain Paul Kenneth Magan identified the victim as Raymond Ulgasan, 30, of Barangay Winaswasan in Calatrava town, Negros Occidental.Investigation showed that the victim was on his way home on board a cane truck driven by a certain “Jek-jek Dela Cruz” when they were waylaid by unidentified male persons upon reaching Sitio Canubgan in Barangay Bandila.Dela Cruz told the police the men fired several shots, hitting Ulgasan.Ulgasan died on the spot with multiple gunshot wounds, police records showed.Two fired cartridge of caliber .45 pistol and two deformed slugs of a .9 millimeter pistol were recovered from the crime scene, Magan said.He said they are yet to identify the persons behind the killing since Ulagasan did not receive any death threats prior to the incident.Magan added that they are not discounting the possibility that members of the New People’s Army are behind the killing.
