Health office logs 16 new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has recorded 16 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Thursday, January 28, 2021.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,295.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 16 new local cases, eight are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, two local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), five are local index cases, and one death.

Of the 3,295 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 418 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category, and 2,877 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,877 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty, 1,455 local index cases, and 1,237 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 366 active cases, 122 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 242 are outpatients, and two are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 18 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as recovered.

This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,763.

Of the figure, 299 are LSIs, 116 are ROFs and 2,348 are local cases (community: 1,984; Apors: 364).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 166.
