THE Municipality of Hinigaran has showcased some of its best tourism offerings during the recent LakBAYANihan Tourism Fair 2022 held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City.The southern Negros Occidental town bannered various activities and programs including performances by local talents showing that, indeed, it is one of the richest municipalities in terms of tourism as well as culture and history.The crowd enjoyed and were amazed by the “wonders of Hinigaran” during the 14-day event through exhibition and cultural performances.For being the oyster capital of Negros Occidental, local and foreign tourists can truly have a memorable seafood experience when visiting the town. The delicious taste of its hotly served oyster locally known as “talaba” can surely tend anybody to crave for more.”You would certainly go back to this place to try more of its delicacies as it is one of the province’s food destinations,” the local tourism office said.Aside from food, there’s more that tourists can like and love about Hinigaran.It is known for its Capiz shell products for many decades now. This raw material that is abundant at the sea near the town’s Barangay Tagda is really helping the municipality to create livelihood and employment opportunities for the locals. Capiz shells can be used as materials for house decorations, among others.Of course, when it comes to pyrotechnics, Hinigaran is a top-of-the-list place to visit.
