UNFAZED by the reported endorsement of President Rodrigo Duterte of his opponent former Bacolod congressman Juan Orola, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the former lawmaker perhaps is now “very happy.””The elections will go on and in two weeks we will know what the results will be,” Lacson said.Glen Badon, national executive director and secretary general of Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), said Orola has the support of the president.”I can personally and categorically say that he has the support of President Duterte in his bid for governor,” Badon said in a statement.Badon also said they are negotiating for the support of the Yansons, owners of the Vallacar Transit Inc., for the gubernatorial bid of Orola, specifically with the family’s matriarch Olivia.Asked for a comment, Lacson said, “someone confirmed that the branch of Yanson is supporting Orola so that’s something that we already knew even before.”The governor said, however, that he is wondering why it was denied earlier. It is public knowledge that the Yansons are divided into two groups, the group of Olivia with Leo Rey Yanson and Ginnette Yanson Dumancas. The other is the Y4 siblings including Roy Yanson, Ricky Yanson, Celina Yanson Lopez and Emily Yanson who is the partner of the governor.
