OFFICIAL ballots for Negros Occidental have arrived in the province Tuesday, April 27, 2022, and will be dispatched to the towns and cities in the province within this week, an official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said.Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Roberto Salazar said the inventory and segregation of the official ballots is now ongoing at the Negros Occidental Food Terminal in Bacolod City.”The exact numbers of the official ballots will be determined during election day because the boxes cannot be opened yet,” Salazar said.He said the content of the boxes are equivalent to the total number of clustered precincts.The Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines are in charge of securing the official ballots.Salazar said the ballots and other accountable forms will be delivered to the respective offices of the City and Municipal Treasurer’s Office.Meanwhile, the local absentee voting will end Friday, April 29.The offices that applied for absentee voting administer the manual voting, Salazar said, adding that ballots after the voting are directly submitted to the Committee on Local Absentee Voting and Election Contest and Adjudication Department.They will then create a special electoral board to conduct the counting.
