P60-M new public market in Hinoba-an unveiled

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and Municipal Government of Hinoba-an have inaugurated the town’s new public market worth about P60 million.Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who led the activity on Wednesday, March 30, said the market administration is a challenge not only to the local officials but also to the vendors and residents of the southern Negros Occidental locality.“A clean and orderly market makes a good impression of the town and will lead to more local development,” he said.The P60-million infrastructure project was funded through the Municipal Development Fund Office and by the Provincial Government.For his part, Mayor Ernesto Estrao said the market was primarily designed to be an agricultural “bagsakan” that will boost the local economy.He thanked Lacson for the realization of the town’s project and for the continued support to the municipality.Also present during the inauguration were Sixth District Board Member Jeffrey Tubola, Hinoba-an Vice Mayor JefreEncoy and other town officials, and Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, among others.
