PPCRV-NegOcc backs creation of task force vs vote buying

THE Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in Negros Occidental is backing a proposal made by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to set up a task force against vote buying during election period.PPCRV-Negros Occidental priest in-charge Rev. Fr. Chris Gonzales, who also heads the Diocese of Bacolod’s Social Action Center, said the Comelec’s proposal is a great idea as it will further prevent vote buying.He also regarded vote buying as a “devil’s work,” thus he urged the public to treat their votes as “sacred,” pointing out that such a form of democracy is not available in other countries.The priest also urged the public to treat their votes seriously, as the future of everyone depends on it.The PPCRV is a non-partisan, non-sectarian, non-profit organization affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines.The PPCRV is responsible for poll education campaign and serves as watchdog against all types of electoral fraud.
