‘Unity’ marks Marilou Arroyo’s campaign kickoff

ALL six mayors and other local officials showed unity and support for the reelection bid of Negros Occidental Fifth District Representative Marilou Arroyo during her caravan and opening salvo on Saturday, March 26, 2022.The opening salvo of Arroyo started with a caravan from Himamaylan City led by Mayor Raymund Tongson, traversing the municipality of Binalbagan led by Mayor Alejandro Mirasol before going to the town of Hinigaran where she was welcomed by Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo.The caravan ended in Isabela town where they were joined by Mayor Irene Montilla.Mayor Ella Garcia-Yulo and Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan, on the other hand, led the participants from Moises Padilla and La Castellana that also had their caravans from their respective municipalities going to Isabela Gazebo, where Arroyo had her grand rally.Yukii Takahasi, a Filipino-Japanese content creator with over 7.9 million followers and 80.9 million likes on TikTok and also one of the “Singtokers” in TV5’s videoke game show, “Sing Galing!,” performed live at a jam-packed crowd during the grand rally.La Castellana’s pride, Bailes de Luces, Himamaylan Dance Sport and winners of Arroyo’s Pasa-ot Dance Contest, BDC Binalbagan, Hinigaran Group, Moises Padilla Hinuptanan and Himaya Dance Troupe also performed during the event.Arroyo, who was overwhelmed by the solid support of the mayors in the district, said she is confident that indeed team Arroyo is “solid.”“Rest assured that we will continue to be of service to all of you and we will only give you the best for Quinto Distrito,” she said, assuring that the continuity of the educational assistance for the students, medical assistance and financial assistance for those in need as well as the livelihood programs and infrastructure projects for the progress of the district.
