London, England 15 March 2026  – Cortex Research, the UK’s new frontier AI research laboratory, has rolled out Vera 1.6, a proprietary AI model, and the Vera Platform, a unified agentic AI system trained, owned, and operated entirely within United Kingdom borders. Its public beta went live on 6 February 2026.

This launch marks a key milestone for the UK’s AI ecosystem. Up until now, frontier AI has been dominated by a small group of US-based laboratories controlling over £100 billion in total investment. The UK has previously lacked an independent frontier AI research ecosystem, leaving British organizations reliant on foreign-controlled models for an increasingly critical piece of national infrastructure. Cortex Research was established to address this gap.

Model Performance Metrics

Vera 1.6 is a high-capacity AI model trained by Cortex Research on UK soil. The model achieves a 92% score on the HMMT February 2025 mathematics benchmark and an 85.9% score on GPQA Diamond, a graduate-level scientific reasoning assessment that puts it on competitive footing with top closed-source US frontier models.

Platform Feature Overview

The Vera Platform combines Vera 1.6 with 20 specialized autonomous agents designed for complex reasoning, research, coding, and knowledge synthesis. These agents coordinate across tasks in real time, handling work ranging from document drafting and data analysis to client correspondence and presentation development.

The platform offers native integration with Slack, Gmail, and Google Drive, with voice and multi-modal functionality available alongside enterprise-grade security and compliance features. Image generation tools and conversational voice agents are scheduled for release in Q3 to Q4 2026.

The Vera Platform is accessible now at www.cortexresearch.co.uk across three tiers: the Starter plan costs £20 per seat per month, the Advanced plan is priced at £40 per seat per month, and the Professional plan costs £200 per seat per month, which includes enterprise integrations, API access, compliance features, and dedicated customer support. Annual Teams and Enterprise custom plans are available upon request.
