JEMAA Resource Project

Kaduna, Nigeria Oct 15, 2025  – The Kaduna Mining Development Company (KMDC) and the Kaduna State Government are pleased to announce the identification of a substantial multi-metallic deposit, including gold, lithium, copper, and nickel, within Kaduna State. This discovery includes an inferred resource of 33 million metric tons (MT) of gold and 187 MT of nickel ore. The finding occurred during tin exploration activities in the pegmatite region of Gidan Waya, Jemaa local government area, which also revealed an inferred resource of 97 MT of enriched ore bodies containing tantalum, niobium, along with associated tin and tungsten.

Kian Smith (https://www.kiansmith.com) executed this discovery on behalf of the joint venture between KMDC and Anka Metals (https://ankameta/s.africa).

Following two years of extensive exploration and this significant find, KMDC is establishing the JEMAA Resource Project, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) designated for the asset’s development. Additionally, KMDC confirms that the JEMAA Resource Project has formed a technical steering committee tasked with supervising drilling operations and resource verification.

The Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA), statutorily responsible for providing relevant geological data for Nigeria, will head the JEMAA Resource Project’s technical steering committee in Kaduna State. The recent discovery of multi-metallic deposits, particularly nickel, in Kaduna State holds national and geological significance. The NGSA commends the JEMAA Resource Project and the Kaduna State government for their commitment to transparent data sharing and their request for an NGSA-led independent resource verification. This partnership is expected to boost investor confidence in Nigeria’s mining sector and enhance the country’s geoscience data for economic advancement through its mineral wealth.

The technical steering committee also comprises leading representatives from respected Nigerian geological companies, namely Geocardinal Engineering Services Limited and Fundamental Integrated Site Appraisal Services Limited (FISAS).
