The “Most Powerful Women in Accounting” honor celebrates women leaders who are advancing innovation, excellence, and inclusivity in accounting. An independent judging panel selects recipients based on their leadership influence, professional contributions, and commitment to mentoring future accountants.

This recent honor concludes an exceptional year for Ms. Hays. During 2025, she was also selected as a Forbes Best-in-State CPA for New York and commenced her role as Chair of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYCPA) Audit Committee for the 2025-2026 term. Her industry leadership is broad, having recently completed her service as Chair of the AICPA’s Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) Executive Committee in May 2025. She also maintains her positions as a Director-at-Large for the NYCPA and as the Eastern Region 3rd Vice President for NABA, Inc., working to close opportunity gaps for Black and minority business professionals.

Beyond leading her firm and advocacy work, Ms. Hays is a committed educator. She acts as an adjunct lecturer at the Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business at the College of Staten Island (CUNY) and serves as a graduate advisor at Hunter College (CUNY). She is also a regular speaker and author on subjects including tax strategy, financial resilience, and the adoption of AI within accounting practices.
