In developing the Athena, Pellikaan Timing aimed to create a watch that strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and strength. Its design is intentionally elegant yet avoids traditional or overly feminine tropes. At the same time, exceptional readability— a core value across all the brand’s creations— was given top priority.

Timeless Design for Any Wrist Size The Athena features a 35mm case diameter, making it suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes. Its stainless steel case is finished with a sapphire crystal and offers water resistance up to 5 ATM, ideal for everyday use. The design exudes refinement without falling into the clichés of traditional women’s watches— powerful yet graceful.

Swiss Precision That Surpasses Standards The watch is equipped with a Swiss ETA quartz movement featuring thermal compensation— a technology that automatically adjusts timekeeping accuracy in response to temperature fluctuations. In practice, this movement often exceeds the stringent COSC standards for quartz, drifting by less than 10 seconds per year under normal conditions. This makes the Athena one of the most accurate portable timepieces available.

“The Athena emerged from our desire to design a watch that breaks the mold,” says Bas Pellikaan, Designer at Pellikaan Timing. “It had to be elegant without feeling outdated, powerful without appearing bulky, and above all: clear and comfortable to use.”

The name Athena was a deliberate choice. In Greek mythology, the goddess Athena symbolizes wisdom, strategy, and strength— qualities Pellikaan Timing sought to translate into a watch that subtly reflects feminine power while remaining explicitly non-gendered.
