NEGROS Occidental Fifth District Representative Ma. Lourdes Arroyo led the inauguration ceremony of the retrofitting of permanent-bridge in Hinigaran last January 29.

During the ceremony, Arroyo said the P30.2-million infrastructure project will bring more progress to the town.

“Bridges play a vital role in the economy since bridges connect places and people, and make it possible for goods to be transported and services to be rendered. The strengthening of this bridge will surely benefit the people of Hinigaran and bring more development to the municipality,” Arroyo said.

Arroyo also pointed out that the strengthening of the bridge is even more relevant in this time of pandemic because of the benefit that it provides in terms of helping the economy recover from the effects of Covid-19 pandemic.

Also in attendance during the ceremony were Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo, Vice Mayor Teresita Gabrido, Councilors Mary Grace Arceo, Hadji Trojillo, Oscar Yulo and Assistant District Engineer Ade Roderick G. Turingan of the Department of Public Works and Highways. (PR)
